I didn’t plan to write this post today but something very exciting was just announced and I really wanted to share it with you.

The Smithsonian Released 2.8 Million 2D and 3D Images for Free Access!
Yesterday, an iconic brand – The Smithsonian – announced that it had released 2.8 million high-resolution two- and three-dimensional images from across its collections onto an open access online platform for patrons to peruse and download free of charge.
Why does this matter?
Well – The Smithsonian has “19 Smithsonian museums, nine research centers, libraries, archives and the National Zoo” and as they digitize their collection they are sharing these into the public domain for you to “Use, reuse and transform”. Plus they will continue to add more and more images as they become available!
The possiblities to use these images in your teaching, your advertising, your marketing, your creating, your remixing and more! are infinite!
Get out there and create!
